Last Updated Jun 2018

Johannesburg, 7 June 2018 – The South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) has amended its by-laws to permit the issuing of public statements by the SAICA chief executive officer (CEO) regarding the institution of any complaint or investigation or action against a member once a draft charge sheet or a charge sheet has been issued to such member and such matter, complaint, investigation or action is, in the opinion of the CEO, in the public interest. This decision is aimed at ensuring that the transparency of the SAICA disciplinary processes is enhanced.

SAICA hereby informs stakeholders and the public that the disciplinary hearings of:

  • Mr. Khayelihle Sibusiso Sithole; and
  • Mr. Munroe Ivan Swirsky,

will take place on 22 June 2018 at 9:00 at SAICA’s head office, 17 Fricker Road, Illovo, Sandton.
All disciplinary hearings before the Disciplinary Committee are open to the public, unless exceptional circumstances exist which warrant such hearings to be held in camera.

Although disciplinary hearings before the Disciplinary Committee are open to the public, the evidential documents which form part of the disciplinary hearings are confidential and the public will not be provided access to such documents under any circumstances.
Further details regarding disciplinary hearings are available at the SAICA disciplinary hearing roll
