Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) is the second part of the qualifying examination, which assesses professional competence. To be eligible candidates must have passed ITC, completed 20 months of a registered training contract and successfully completed a professional programme.

SAICA Exams Language Policy
 
After much deliberation and extensive consultations with stakeholders including, but not limited to, SAICA’s regional structures, professional development committees, representatives from SAICA accredited universities, ABASA, and AWCA), SAICA has amended its Language Policy as it pertains to the Institute’s two qualifying examinations. This change will see both qualifying examinations, currently offered in English and Afrikaans, be offered only in English.
