Initial test of competence - January

The Initial Test of Competence (ITC) is the standard setting exam which is written after the completion of an accredited CTA programme and is an assessment of core technical competence. To be eligible to write this exam a candidate must hold a CTA that has been accredited by SAICA.

Special concessions

Candidates who require special concessions in an examination must carefully read the policy below and apply to SAICA by the relevant cut-off date.


Copies of exam scripts Candidates who are unsuccessful in a SAICA examination may request a copy of their exam scripts in terms of section 51 of the Promotion of Access to Information Act, 2000 (Act 2 of 2000), the PAI Act. Candidates have six months from the date the exam results are released to request a copy. The exam scripts are destroyed after this time in line with our policy.
