The Administration of Estates Act, No 66 of 1965.
The Minister of Justice and Constitutional Development has by Government Notice No R 954 under Section 103 of the Administration of Estates Act (Act No.66 of 1965) made amendment to the regulations in the schedule. The Minister approved the revision of the remuneration and allowances for appraisers.

The Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act, No 130 of 1993.
The deadline for the Return of Earnings form (W.As.8) to be prepared under the Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act (COIDA) was 31 March 2012. The deadline for submission of the 2011 ROE has been extended to 31 May 2012 for all registered COIDA employers. The Department of Labour posted the annual returns from 30 March 2012.
The forms can completed on-line on the Department of Labour website under the on-line services, but this can only be done if you have a reference number beginning with "99 xxxx".
The manual forms have also been released and employers must ensure that they complete their old reference number on all pages.

Employment Equity Act, 55 of 1998
The purpose of this Act is to achieve equity in the workplace by promoting equal opportunity and fair treatment in employment through elimination of unfair discrimination and implementing affirmative action measures to redress the disadvantages in employment experienced by designated groups, in order to ensure equitable representation in all occupational categories and levels in the workforce.
This Act provides for additional reporting requirements employers with the additional burden of submitting an Employment Equity Report.
All designated employers must, in terms of Section 21 of the Employment Equity Act of 1998 submit their annual report by 3 October 2011.
The Department of Labour has also launched an Employment Equity Online Reporting System where reports can be submitted electronically. The deadline for online submissions is the 16th of January 2012. To complete the online report, please visit the Department of Labour's website and register for the on-line reporting.

The National Credit Act, No 34 of 2005
The National Credit Act No.34 of 2005 (the Act) was passed into law by Parliament and signed by the President in March 2006. The provisions of the Act were implemented in stages commencing on 1 June 2006 until 1 June 2007. The Act replaced the Usury Act 73 of 1968 and the Credit Agreements Act 75 of 1980.
The Act was implemented to change credit lending practices and give the consumer in South Africa increased rights.
