Southern Region Trainee Committee

The SRTC is established to provide trainees with the opportunity to make an input into the SAICA decision-making structures related to training and to assist SAICA in discharging its duty of ensuring that persons, who qualify to be registered as Chartered Accountants in South Africa, possess the necessary levels of technical competence and professional characteristics.

SAICA is committed to facilitating the sustainability and growth of the CA (SA) profession and in doing so strives to:

• Enhance its ability to influence local and inter Regional agendas;
• Create positive brand recognition and improve the competitiveness of the CA(SA) profession;
• Ensure compliance with regulation and good governance and to effectively manage and service the needs of our members;
• Maintain the standards of the qualification through effective quality education and training models;
• Create a liaison with the National Trainee Committee, the Accountancy Profession, the Trainee Accountant Society (TAS) and Training Requirements Committee (TRECO), a sub-committee of the Southern Region Council and trainee body of SAICA Southern Region.
