Global Accounting Alliance (GAA)

The Global Accounting Alliance (GAA) is an international accounting coalition of the world's premier accounting bodies, formed in 2006. The GAA aims to promote quality professional services, support that global membership, share information and collaborate on international accounting issues. The GAA represents over 700,000 of the world's leading professional accountants. The alliance bodies include:

• Australia - the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia
• Canada - Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (CICA)
• England and Wales - Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW)
• Hong Kong - Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKCPA)
• Ireland - Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland (ICAI)
• New Zealand - New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants (NZICA)
• Scotland - Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland (ICAS)
• South Africa - South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA)
• United States - American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA)

Local Societies CPD Programs

There are a number of locally based institutes that have well established CPD programs in operation. Currently, the Australian (ICAA), New Zealand (NZICA) and England and Wales Institutes (ICAEW) have programs which may be made available to SAICA members.
