Brian Taitz [CA(SA), CA, MCom(Tax), BCom (Hons), BCom] is the Chairman of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) Australian Chapter.
Brian is also the Managing Director of Kingsway Taitz Fund Administration Pty Limited. Previously, Brian was the Financial Controller at a boutique hedge fund manager based in Sydney with $1.5 bn under management. He has also worked at Westpac Banking Corporation, Standard Bank and PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Dustin Graham [CA(SA), BCom (Hons)] is an executive committee member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) Australia Chapter.
Dustin recently relocated to Australia and is currently a Manager at Deloitte, working on both audit and advisory engagements for niche middle market clients. Dustin qualified at BDO in Durban, South Africa and later worked for BDO member firms in London and New York in the Corporate Finance and Forensic departments, respectively.
Etienne Grobbelaar [CA(AUS), CA(SA), BCompt (Hons), BCom] is an executive committee member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) Australian Chapter.
In 1996 he started his own financial consultancy business servicing the manufacturing and tourism industries. He assisted companies to successfully apply for government financial assistance which was primarily a grant to stimulate the country’s drive for increased international tourism and creating job opportunities. Etienne completed his articles with Brink Roos & du Toit in Pretoria, which after amalgamations, became known as PricewaterhouseCoopers. He then pursued a career in information systems, internal auditing and training in the bank industry.
Settled in Sydney after immigrating in 2008, he is currently completing a Diploma in Financial Planning and is looking forward to a new career as a Certified Financial Planner.
Greg Haskins [CA(SA), BCom (Hons)] is an executive committee member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) Australian Chapter. Greg has also served on the executive committee of the Australia Africa Business Council - NSW Branch.
Greg is a Director at My Departure Lounge, an executive search firm that specialises in developing career opportunities for international Chartered Accountants interested in relocating to Australia. Greg also manages the talent search function for a number of innovative and dynamic companies in the Australian market, focusing particularly on Chartered Accountants leaving Big 4 and 2nd tier accounting firms.
Prior to joining My Departure Lounge Greg spent seven years with Deloitte. Starting in South Africa, he then spent a year in their New York office before finally settling in Sydney in 2004. In his last role as Audit Director, Greg was also responsible for Deloitte Australia's international recruitment initiatives.
Matthew George [CA(SA), ACIS, BCompt (Hons), BCom] is an executive committee member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) Australian Chapter.
Matthew is a Director and Head of Finance at State Street Global Advisors, Australia, Limited. Prior to moving to Australia at the end of 2005, Matthew spent ten years working in broad senior finance roles in the British Isles, Caribbean and Europe for financial services groups providing offshore trust and banking, diversified wealth management and specialist asset management services. Matthew completed his articles with Grant Thornton International in Durban.
Andrew Huntley [CA(SA)] is an executive committee member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) Australian Chapter.
Andrew relocated to Australia with his family at the beginning of 2008. He joined Deloitte in Johannesburg in 2000 and then went on a short term secondment to Deloitte New York. He then spent two years with Deloitte Sydney on secondment during 2003 and 2005. His experience and expertise is in both assurance and advisory roles focusing on the regulatory requirements for banks and financial services companies.
Pierre De Villiers [CA(SA), BCom (Hons)] is an executive committee member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) Australian Chapter.
Pierre is a National Manager for Audit Training at PKF Australia in the Professional Standards division. His primary responsibilities revolve around managing all A&A Learning delivered throughout PKF Australia and also delivers programmes into the Asia-Pac region. Pierre qualified at Deloitte in Durban, South Africa, and went on to spend 6 years in their Johannesburg-based Learning & Development Department. He recently moved to Australia with his wife [Nicole] and son [Samuel].
Nic Bernard [CA(SA), BCom (Hons)] is an executive committee member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) Australian Chapter.
Nic is the National Manager for Audit Technology & Training at PKF Australia. His primary responsibilities revolve around managing the technology requirements throughout PKF Australia. Nic qualified at Ernst & Young in Johannesburg, South Africa. Nic has an extensive knowledge of different technology platforms being used in the audit environment and has successfully implemented a number of technology platforms in large and smaller audit firms.
Janri Pretorius [CA(SA), BAcc (Hons)] is an executive committee member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) Australian Chapter.
Janri recently relocated to Australia and is currently National IFRS Manager at PKF Australia Ltd. Before relocating to Australia, Janri was based in Johannesburg, South Africa and spent 7 years with PricewaterhouseCoopers where she qualified and held various technical and technical advisory positions.
Tom Du Preez [CA(SA),Member of the ICAA, ACMA, BCom (Hons)] is an executive committee member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) Australian Chapter
Tom Du Preez is a Director in PricewaterhouseCoopers' Financial Assurance (Audit) practice. Tom specialises in providing audit and accounting advisory services to clients in the energy and resources industry and has extensive experience working with large international businesses across a range of industries. Tom started his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Johannesburg in 2000 and has been working in Australia since 2003. He is married to Billie-Jay and based in Brisbane where he is Chair of the Brisbane Chapter of SAICA Australia.
Ryan Hansen [CA(SA), BCom (Hons)] is an executive committee member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) Australian Chapter responsible for the Melbourne Chapter.
Ryan is a Director in the external audit division at Deloitte Melbourne. His primary responsibilities are day to day client management as well as training and managing young CA¡¦s. Ryan¡¦s key focus is develop professional networks that benefit all members and playing a role in developing people¡¦s careers. Ryan qualified at Deloitte in Pretoria, South Africa, and spent 6 years in Pretoria as an audit manager. He moved to Australia in 2008 with his wife [Lynette] and son [Joshua].
