What is our role?

SAICA's Eastern Region exists service all SAICA members and associates in Kwa-Zulu Natal. In addition, it represents SAICA's national operations at a regional level. Services offered by the Eastern Region office include the organising of networking events for members and associates. Our events provide members, associates and guests with networking opportunities and many include a CPD element. Over and above these events we are also responsible for delivering seminars and workshops on various topics, ranging from accounting, tax and management accounting through to exciting new seminars on business-related issues.

The Eastern Region office plays an active role in representing its diverse membership base at various levels with key stakeholders. This is done via the committed members who serve on the active committee structures, which include Members in Business, Small and Medium Practice, Tax, Public Sector and Accountancy Profession Education & Transformation (APTEC) and District Associations that represent the various constituencies within the membership base. These committee structures ensure that we can actively communicate with the members and in doing so represent them at various levels within the public and private sectors.

One of the other key focus areas of SAICA's Eastern Region office is the maintenance and enhancement of the CA(SA) designation through media coverage and promotion of the designation in business, public practice and within the public sector. The office also has deals with all member and trainee-related queries. Our Transformation & Growth representative is responsible for the implementation of all SAICA's Eastern Region Transformation & Growth initiatives.
