Small & Medium Practices Committee
The SMP strives to identify the needs and promote the interests of members in small and medium practice within the framework of the profession and to encourage their participation in the profession.
The Eastern Region SMP Committee is represented on the National SMP committee, which exercises its mandate by:
- constantly monitoring the needs, interests and challenges faced by SMPs and making recommendations to SAICA and/or the appropriate authority on matters submitted to the committee,
- improving communication amongst members, and
- commenting on legislation and/or regulations that will affect members.
The primary role of the Small Medium Practices Committee is to identify the needs of members in small practices (small practice members) within the framework of the profession and to encourage their participation in the profession.

- Companies Bill
- Formulation of a "Framework" for non-public entities
- Power Practice and the development of SAICA's revised SMP strategy
- Development of the revised CA(SA) training model
- Training Regulations
- Small and Medium Practice networking activities
